Business Improvement District - Fort William

A BID is where businesses, within a defined geographical area, vote to invest collectively in local improvements over and above those provided by statutory authorities. It is a partnership arrangement where the local business community and the statutory authorities work together on projects that will benefit the local economy and local businesses.

Creating a BID for Fort William provides a great opportunity to work together and make the changes we all want. The cost to our businesses is low and through a BID we can maintain access to external assistance and funding not available to individual businesses.

All the improvements that will be proposed will be ideas from businesses here in Fort William and we hope the will come out in surveys and consultations that we plan to hold. Every business in the area has had the opportunity to let us know what their priorities are.
