The Estate owns the sporting rights over the majority of this area and is internationally renowned for the quality of its snipe shooting, trophy stags and seatrout fishing, which attract sporting visitors each year.
North Uist (pop. 1,250) has over 400 tenanted crofts administered by the estate.
