Applecross Trust

The Applecross Trust was established in 1975, when the peninsula was beginning to open up to the general public. The north coast road from Shieldaig had just been completed, connecting the more remote townships for the first time and allowing year round access, even in the winter months when the Bealach na Ba is blocked by snow. That was 50 years ago. The Board of Trustees is tasked with preserving the outstanding natural beauty of the landscape, the heritage, and wildlife of the peninsula. It is custodian of the Applecross Estate, managing it in a sustainable, progressive manner. The Trust works in partnership with local communities, for the benefit of those that love, work and visit Applecross.
