In North Lanarkshire, we’re ambitious.

Ambitious for our residents and the people who work here. Ambitious for our services and the people who provide them. Ambitious for our communities.

Our priorities are clear. We want to:

  • Improve economic opportunities and outcomes
  • Support all children to realise their full potential
  • Improve the health, wellbeing and care of our communities
  • Improve relationships with communities and the third sector
  • Improve the council’s resource base

We are the fourth-largest authority in Scotland serving 338,000 residents as well as businesses and visitors. From teachers to social workers, from solicitors to gardeners, we have a diverse range of opportunities to join our 16,000-strong workforce.

To help us achieve our priorities we have begun our new ASPIRE programme:

  • Articulate
  • Sensitive
  • Proactive
  • Inspirational
  • Realistic
  • Evaluate

Through ASPIRE we want to make sure we can work together to improve the lives of the people of North Lanarkshire.

ASPIRE is designed to ensure that change is everyone’s business if the council is to adapt to new models of service delivery, new legislation, new expectations and new financial pressures. It is about challenging established mindsets, ensuring collaborative and flexible working, and promoting a positive culture of empowerment, creativity and innovation.

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
