This is one of only three VisitScotland 5* attractions on Skye, and lies at the heart of a 20,000 acre traditional Highland estate. Once the seat of Lord MacDonald, the estate is owned and managed by the Clan Donald Lands Trust, a charity set up in 1971. The whole property is open daily from Easter to October, with over 40,000 visitors each year delighting in the picturesque Castle ruins set in historic woodland gardens, and soaking up the culture of the Highlands and Islands through the story of the powerful Clan Donald in our accredited Museum. There is something for everyone; from family activities, to longer walks amongst stunning scenery, to retail therapy in our two gift shops before taking refreshment in our café in the restored Stables building. For visitors wishing to stay longer we have a number of 4* lodges and apartments.
