Island Bakery Organics Ltd
Island Bakery is a family business established on Mull in 1994 by Joe & Dawn Reade. Over the years it has grown from a general bakery to concentrate solely on making organic biscuits.
Our current factory was built in Tobermory in 2012 and is powered by sustainable, renewable energy.
We have a staff of around 40, the majority of whom are employed in the production and packing of our biscuits. The team also includes production management, technical, engineering, finance, sales, warehouse, delivery, admin and cleaning staff.
Our biscuits are sold throughout the UK largely to wholesale customers who supply independent retailers. We also supply Waitrose and Booths supermarkets. We have a steady export base with customers in Germany, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Sweden and many other European countries. A small amount is exported to the United States and Japan.
As well as the Island Bakery brand, the company makes biscuits for a small number of other brands, and is a regular supplier to Marks & Spencer.
