The South East route is the busiest and most congested in the country, connecting the capital and its southern and south eastern suburbs with Kent, Surrey, Sussex and Europe. Around 5,000 passenger trains run everyday over almost 2,000 miles of track.

This is both an exciting and unique prospect to work at a key London depot where you will have the opportunity to help develop and shape the workplace and how it is run.

From establishing safety arrangements to checking the quality of work, you'll direct and inspire the success of a team involved in everything from inspection and faulting, through to maintenance and renewal

We'll look to you to direct, organise and motivate a high performing team. From inspection and faulting through to maintenance and renewal, you'll play a hands-on role. You'll make sure everything is done efficiently and to the highest standards. Safety will be a priority. You'll establish appropriate safety arrangements and make sure Network Rail staff and contractors alike follow safe systems of work. Proactively controlling and checking the quality of work and the competence of your people, you'll see to it that assets are fully compliant and all vehicles, plant, tools, equipment and materials are fit for purpose. Along the way, you'll compile a range of vital reports.

This role involves days, nights and weekend working, and is a safety critical role so subject to drug and alcohol testing and passing of the relevant medical assessment.

At London Bridge, your contractual agreement will offer you personal security with a variety of benefits. In addition to your baseline salary this location attracts substantial location driven allowances which relate to the Delivery Unit that you will be working with.

Inner London locations (within the M25)- Inner London Allowance '2325, Central London Supplement '900, Direct Labour Allowance '800, Maintenance Allowance '200 (Total- '4225)

Dependent on business requirements there is the opportunity to earn above your bassline salary (averaging circa 25%) in the form of overtime and rest day working, taking fatigue, health and wellbeing into consideration.

Recognising that travel into London is an expense, Network Rail employees are entitled to a generous annual 75% subsidy on season tickets costing up to '3000 (to a maximum amount of '2,250) to support your financial needs.

Your annual leave entitlement after 12 month's continuous service will be 25 working days, in addition to the standard 8 bank and other public UK holidays (subject to non-requirement to work).
