£27,286 - £30,023 – Final year of training
£34,458 - £36,940 - Fully qualified

Orkney Health and Care are looking to appoint a Social Worker to join our well-established Children and Families Social Work Team. Applications from unqualified candidates who are in their final year of study will also be considered.
The team covers the complete range of child care functions including Child Protection, Looked After Children, Youth Justice and Children in Need; Therefore, we can guarantee a varied and interesting workload. Orkney Health and Care recognises and is committed to developing preventative and non-statutory interventions and have invested time and resources to this, including, Social Pedagogy and Systemic Practice approaches.
You will be part of a small, experienced team of Social Workers and Family Support Workers based at the Council Offices in Kirkwall. We will provide regular supervision and guidance within a supportive team.

For appointment at G8
You should hold an SVQ 3 or HNC (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care or other relevant subject. You must also be within 6 months of completion of relevant degree studies to enable registration with the SSSC as a Social Worker.
For appointment at G10
You should hold a degree in Social Work, DipSW or other equivalent qualification to enable practice as a Social Worker. You must also hold current registration with the SSSC as a Social Worker.
This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
