Job Title: Building Compliance and Contracts Engineer

Location: Perth PH1 3GH

Salary: Circa £33,000 depending on skills and experience

Full Time/Permanent role with flexible working patterns available

The Role

As Building Compliance and Contracts Engineer, you will be responsible for delivery of the statutory and regulatory requirements in terms of building fabric and Mechanical and Electrical installations across the SSE sites. This will include managing small replacement and repair projects as well as tendering both new and replacement framework contracts to build a comprehensive set of maintenance and cyclical contracts to ensure ongoing value for SSE.

It will be your responsibility to ensure that our properties meet expected KPI's and are compliant with regulations by conducting audits across team and closed loop.

You will manage the key performance indicators of contractors, assets and equipment; monitoring the work completion rates, standards and effectiveness of the information received and provide feedback to the help desk to improve the data capture from work orders.

You will define the correct maintenance scheduling and predictive maintenance routines across all FM sites; applying industry standards such as SFG20 to ensure that the correct schedules are set up and adhered to.

Your Skills & Experience

You will be educated to HNC level (as a minimum) in an Electrical, Mechanical or Construction related discipline and will have demonstrable experience within a building compliance or regulatory type role. A passion for safety is crucial and you will also hold membership of IOSH (or equivalent organisation). You will have a detailed knowledge of electrical, mechanical HVAC, Fire and Asbestos in buildings and will be competent with reviewing and creating risk assessments and method statements in relation to SHE risk in the business.

You should be an excellent communicator with a natural ability for building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You will have the ability to use a wide range of techniques to influence change at all levels of the organisation and will possess a well-structured, systematic approach with the ability to identify and analyse complex technical issues and understand risks in order to implement appropriate solutions.

Previous Construction, Design and Management experience is not essential but would be highly desirable as would P405 Asbestos Management.

Due to the level of mobility required in this role, a full UK driving licence is essential.
