We are currently looking to identify an Assistant Farm Manager to work at the Company’s Seawater site on the Isle of Muck. Muck is the smallest of four main islands in the Small Isles, part of the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. The farm currently has an MSB consent of 2500t, consists of 10 x 120m pens and has an application pending for the potential increase in size to an MSB of 3500t and 12 x 120m pens. The farm has been in operation since 2014 and has since gone on to produce some of Mowi’s greatest results globally.
This post is offered on a full time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be required to work on a two week on/two week off rotational basis.
Role and Responsibilities
Deputies in the absence of the Farm Manager
Maintaining reliable data records
Monitor all aspects of fish health
Inspection and maintenance of technical equipment and facilities
General farm tasks
Previous salmon farming experience is essential
Good fish husbandry
High degree of computer literacy
Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
Work flexibly to meet the demands of the job
Drivers licence is essential. No driving licence? We can help you with the cost of lessons.
