IT and Business Services, which are part of Route Services are delivering services that are vital to the running of the railway, deliver the provision of services agreed by the routes to allow them to benefit from economies of scale and the optimisation of our critical resources. Every year we buy and deliver 2000km of rail and 2.5 million tonnes of ballast and operate 1200 rail vehicles. Behind the scenes we process '7bn of payments, handle over 230,000 IT helpdesk calls and make sure everyone's wages are paid on time.
We are looking for a CAD Engineer to assist NRG Senior Engineer/Engineers in undertaking the updating of CAD drawings in accordance with relevant standards and process. The NRG CAD team is expanding to take on a wider collection including the management of CAD models and this new role will support and shape this service. The role will be varied and offers an excellent development opportunity.
1. Assist in the day to day runnings of the CAD department and the circulation of CAD standards and procedures to consultants, contractors and suppliers for their compliance.
2. You will be responsible for managing the systems for existing/new data files and records in a structured manner.
3. Assist nominated engineers in the development, review and acceptance of Thameslink Programme designs
4. We will be expecting you to produce and amend 3D Architectural models and 3D Signal drawings, for both conceptual design and visual purposes.
5. You'll be modelling point cloud data within Bentley MicroStation V8i.
6. You will prepare CAD quality reports and other technical documentation as required.
7. Assisting in the development of the Signal Sighting Virtual Reality Model.

Network Rail adheres to a structured pay framework, any salary offered will be within the following pay range: '23,000- '24,000
