Perform Turning duties to meet identified manufacturing schedule / customer requirements.
Operate, set and programme Lathes (manual & CNC). Fanuc and Heidenhain operating systems.
Follow maintenance schedules and carry out routine machine maintenance. Maintain a plant/equipment maintenance schedule and carry out condition monitoring as requested by the Divisional Supervisor.
Liaise with Machining Divisional Supervisor to ensure manpower, tooling and equipment capacity is adequate to meet the workload and customer requirements.
Where required, provide estimation of machining hours to support quotation process.
Attend staff workshop briefings and contribute constructively.
Contribute to the implementation, then continued improvement of a QHSE System to support the Surface Engineering and Machining Division.
Operate overhead crane, forklift and handling equipment.
Perform all duties in accordance with work instructions, inspection requirements and current legislation.
Demonstrate correct health and safety behaviours and actively encourage the ownership of and commitment to the effective implementation of the Health and Safety management system throughout the business.
Actively intervene in any unsafe act or condition that may be identified.
Ensure a firm understanding of, and compliance with, the documented controls and processes, including the Procedures, Risk Assessments and COSHH Assessments, developed to reduce the likelihood of harm to people, property and the environment to as low a level as is reasonably practicable.
Participate in the regular safety tours within your area of responsibility and ensure that effective remedial action is taken in a timely manner with regard to all deficiencies or improvements identified.
Contribute to the progressive improvement of all documented controls and processes, including the Procedures, Risk Assessments and COSHH Assessments, developed to reduce the likelihood of harm to people, property and the environment to as low a level as is reasonably practicable.
Actively participate in the investigation and the identification of corrective and preventive actions and the root cause analysis with regard to all incidents and near misses relating to the personnel within your area of responsibility.
Ensuring that the Supervisors, Managers and Directors are immediately notified of any Health and Safety related issues or concerns that cannot be easily resolved
Ensure compliance with the Albacom’s Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
Participate in internal QHSE audits and implement actions highlighted at such audits.
Contribute to improving QHSE performance levels throughout the business.
Ensure team compliance with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, COSHH Assessments, Risk Assessments and the Waste Disposal arrangements.
Ensure all contractors working in or around the facility comply with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental Procedures, Controls and Processes.
Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements: Time served or a minimum 2 years technical training at machining college or similar educational establishment. Knowledge/ Skills:
3 years minimum in a work shop environment.
3 years minimum with mechanical engineering/machining background – certified in mechanical engineering.
Risk & COSHH Awareness
CNC Programming, Machine setting/operation of Milling machines
Reading technical drawings and technical work instructions
Awareness of standards / general requirements of the Oil & Gas sector
