An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Care Officer within Parkdale Care Home, a service for older people providing permanent and respite care.
As a Social Care Officer you will put the residents care and wellbeing at the heart of everything you do. Promoting independence, dignity and quality of life at all times in a person centred caring and supportive environment. Your duties will be diverse and fulfilling whilst assisting with daily activities, you will also provide residents with both physical and emotional support, also personal care as needed. You will be required to administer medication, assist with developing support plans and carry out reviews to achieve desired outcomes.

You will need to be a truly caring person with a good sense of humour who can build and maintain a good rapport with the residents and their families of those in your care. This is an exciting opportunity for those who enjoy going that extra mile and who are friendly and enthusiastic about caring for others and can lead by example. A genuine interest in the health and wellbeing of vulnerable people is essential. The successful candidate will have effective communication skills and appreciate the needs, wishes and aspirations of older people and how best to support them and their carers in the care home setting. You will be required to register with the SSSC as a Practitioner in a Care Home service, therefore an SVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable or a willingness to work towards this qualification.
