An exciting Opportunity has arisen to employ a career grade Structural Projects Officer. The post will form part of the Energy and Engineering Team within Property Services.
The role will allow you to develop and progress from Technician to Project Officer Grade whilst delivering projects and carrying out detailed structural condition surveys within Perth and Kinross Council's property estate portfolio.
This will include working in existing properties such as schools, libraries, leisure centres, Council houses and all other public buildings. A primary part of the role would require the ability to complete detailed structural condition survey reports. This would inform future planning of projects and a programme of investment associated with the councils Building condition survey programme. There would also be a requirement to carry out designs, project management and detailed specifications within your area of expertise when necessary.
You will have experience within design, surveying and project management relating to the structural engineering discipline.
To undertake the role we require excellent planning and organisational skills along with the ability to complete and implement projects within target deadlines. Must be capable of developing innovative solutions and provide Technical support.
You should be self-motivated and confident with excellent communication skills to establish good working relationships. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team of Architects and other Engineering staff you will engage effectively with a wide and diverse audience including Technical and non-Technical individuals.
It is also expected that you will be suitably qualified, have membership of a Professional body and have knowledge in the use of computer aided design packages such as AutoCAD, NBS and STRUCAD.
Knowledge of other appropriate systems and processes for the effective delivery of project activities relating to Structural Engineering design would also be required.
Evidence of a working knowledge of current regulations and standards relating to Structural Engineering and construction design.
Consideration will be given to individuals who are working towards an academic qualification or professional registration at a particular level in accordance with the career grade structure.
Placing on the Career Grade Structure will be dependent on skills, knowledge and experience at time of Interview.
