IT and Business Services, which are part of Route Services are delivering services that are vital to the running of the railway, deliver the provision of services agreed by the routes to enable them to benefit from economies of scale and the optimisation of our critical resources. Every year we buy and deliver 2000km of rail and 2.5 million tons of ballast and operate 1200 rail vehicles. Behind the scenes we process '7bn of payments, handle over 230,000 IT helpdesk calls and make sure everyone's wages are paid on time.

This role is to provide governance to IT projects so the test approach will meet the needs of the business for functional, non-functional and service requirements; lead and coordinate the acceptance testing managing service risks.

This role is to provide governance to IT projects so the test approach will meet the needs of the business for functional, non-functional and service requirements; lead and coordinate the acceptance testing managing service risks.

1. Lead and direct governance of the testing provided by 3rd party suppliers for Route Services IT Projects.

2. Assurance of the supplier/3rd party test artefacts.

3. Preparation of test artefacts (e.g. Test Strategies, Test Plans, Test Completion reports) in accordance with NR IT Test Assurance Policy and Strategy.

4. Planning and managing Acceptance Testing entry & exit criteria, defect management, progress meetings and reporting for Network Rail.

5. Supporting the KPIs for Test Assurance by providing test metrics; support process and service improvement initiatives.

6. 3rd party and supplier relationship management to support identification, mitigation and promotion of risk based testing approaches allowing early mitigation of test related risks and provide confidence in the product being delivered.

7. You will review change requests for project and BAU activities for the right level of testing against the risk.

8. Support Route Services IT delivery teams in delivering projects on time, to cost and budget.

9. Ability to identify risks, raise and track.

We adhere to a structured pay framework, any salary offered will be within the following pay range: '32,256 - '36,288.

In addition to the basic criminal record check, in accordance with the UK Government we are also required to verify your identity, right to work in the UK and previous three years employment history.
