Job Description

This is a Senior Practitioner post within the Adult Protection Network. The post holder will work as part of a small team covering the whole of Aberdeenshire. The Adult Protection Network works alongside partners including Police Scotland, NHS Grampian, and Aberdeenshire HSCP colleagues to fulfil the statutory requirements of the Adult Support & Protection (S) Act 2007. This will include making inquiries into concerns around vulnerable adults, conducting formal investigations, chairing Adult Protection Case Conferences, carrying out multi-disciplinary risk assessment, preparing and monitoring risk management plans. The post provides the opportunity to work closely with a wide range of professionals and colleagues.

To take the lead role in protecting vulnerable adults from harm in Aberdeenshire by working with stakeholders to evaluate situations and where appropriate, develop and oversee the implementation of strategies to manage risk.

Provide day to day support to staff, other professionals and the public by contributing to the assessment of complex needs, service requirements and service delivery.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

This post will require you to have obtained SSSC registration within 6 months of employment.
