Lifelong Learning Library Supervisor
Sighthill and Ratho Libraries (Libraries Citywide & Localities; South-West Locality)

Salary: £21, 490 - £25,623
Hours: 29.17 (including shift working and Saturday working)

We're looking for a LL Library Supervisor to contribute to the development and delivery of a lifelong learning service for Edinburgh. Based across two community libraries at Sighthill (in Gate 55) and Ratho. You'll also be working with others across the library service, with locality teams and other partners to develop and improve library services.

Sighthill and Ratho libraries are located in the south-west of Edinburgh; providing a wide range of services, activities and learning opportunities tailored to meet the needs of the local communities.
One of our key aims is to provide services for people from all ages and backgrounds in vibrant and welcoming community spaces.

As LL Library Supervisor, the post holder will support the leadership of the existing committed staff team and help drive development of the library service.

Sighthill Library is based inside Gate 55, a thriving Community Centre, in partnership with South West Edinburgh’s wider Lifelong Learning team. The library, like it’s partner facility at Ratho, has well-established links with local schools and positive relationships with young people in the community. The post holder will be expected to support and work with the Development Leader to lead the team; enhancing our service provision to children and young people equally alongside other user groups.

Ratho Library is a much-valued vital resource within its rural village community. The post-holder will be expected to work with the Development Leader to lead their team in developing services to meet the growing and changing needs of the community, as it continues to expand.

The libraries have established a wide range of partnerships with local agencies and organisations: the post holder will work with the Development Leader to further develop these relationships to enhance our service provision to the community.

If you would like more information or an informal discussion about the role please contact:

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check before a formal offer of employment can be made.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
