As part of Mowi Scotland’s ongoing Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) certification implementation strategy, we are now looking to recruit an experienced, and highly motivated Certification Manager for our Technical department. The incumbent will primarily be responsible for driving the implementation, maintenance and retention of ASC certification throughout Mowi Scotland’s farming business, working in close cooperation with all relevant parts of the business. As part of the role, the successful candidate will be expected to provide ASC related audit support to key operational departments and as such will be expected to travel extensively to our sites across Scotland.
The role is primarily based in Fort William and involves working closely with the Technical Manager and the Quality Systems team. The successful candidate will have an ability to communicate effectively to a high verbal and written standard to a diverse range of people. You will be able to plan, and project manage effectively, are focused on the detail, methodical, and can work to a tight work schedule whilst producing and maintaining a high standard of work. As well as being effective team player, you will be able to work individually, using your own initiative to get the job done.
Role & Responsibilities
Responsible for implementing and maintaining ASC certification across all Mowi Scotland’s sites.
Responsibility for providing ASC audit support to key business operational departments.
Ensuring close cooperation and communication with all relevant parts of the business.
Ensure corrective action requests raised at third party audits are closed out in a timely manner and provide regular written and verbal updates on the type, number and actions of corrective actions raised.
Qualified to degree level in an Aquaculture subject or equivalent and/or ability to demonstrate experience in a similar managerial role.
Experience of leading audits and/or auditing is an advantage.
Previous experience in a similar role within the aquaculture or fisheries related business is preferable.

For note, the candidate selection process will me multistage. The first stage of selection will involve shortlisted candidates receiving a set question and instructions and will be given 24hour deadline to produce an answer. In addition, the candidates will be sent and are required to complete a personality test which is to be completed in the same timescale as the set question.
Following this, and based on the candidates’ profile form CV, cover letter, answer of the question matching the qualifying criteria and the personality test, successful next stage candidates will be asked to attend an interview. In the interview stage, all candidates will be asked to prepare a short presentation. The question(s) for the presentation will be communicated prior to the selected candidates’ interview.
