Salary: £31,500 - £47,900 depending on skills and experience + excellent benefits + annual bonus

The Role

Working within the Technical Analysis team in Capital Projects, you will be responsible for providing specialist metocean support across a range of offshore wind projects. You will work closely with wind analysts to ensure a consistent view of climatic conditions to deliver the best value for projects.

Your tasks will include metocean and modelling campaign specification and tendering to ensure an appropriate dataset is selected to optimise wind turbine and substructure design without excessive conservatism, whilst also balancing design certification risks. You will analyse, and post-process measured and modelled data to provide the required insight, including extreme value analysis, weather window analysis and support for weather-sensitive decision making.

You will develop tools and procedures to facilitate consistent and high-quality deliverables from the team and enable all work to be cross-checked before issue. You will seek new opportunities to add value to projects with innovative solutions.

Your Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone with strong knowledge of metocean processes and challenges, and experience working as a metocean analyst/engineer, ideally in offshore wind. You should have a high familiarity with industry-standard metocean models on regional and local scales. You should be educated to degree level in a physical science or engineering degree, preferably in oceanography or equivalent. You will have a high degree of numerical and computer literacy and will be accomplished in data processing and analysis.

As a person, you'll have strong communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to liaise with a variety of stakeholders and interact with multi-disciplined project teams. You'll be proactive, self-motivated, and have the ability to problem solve and deal with multiple and competing demands. Furthermore, you'll be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail and strong report writing skills.
