The Senior Completions Engineer (SCE) provides the engineering expertise required to deliver well designs, planning and programmes that meet business objectives and are in compliance with local regulations and in conformance with all BP practices and procedures. The SCE is required to work with cross-functional peers in GWO Engineering, GWO Operations, Reservoir Development and GOO to ensure completions engineering well planning and design meets all project business objectives. The SCE supports the Wells Superintendent in execution of well operations by leading delivery of completions engineering support and assurance. The SCE is expected to provide coaching and mentoring support to less experienced CE staff.

Key accountabilities

Leads the engineering input to completions design & operations per the requirements New Well Common Process.
Assures that well control and process safety risks are recognized and managed in completions design and operations.
Assures completion time and cost estimates to support project FM’s and well AFE’s.
Technically assures and approves the completion section of the well SOR.
Assures the functional and technical specifications for tubulars, equipment and sandface completion processes to deliver the expected reliability & rate/reserve.
Implements new completion procedures/practices/technology and shares learnings with other Regions.
Reviews/benchmarks completion execution and performance to identify areas for continuous improvement.
Technically assures and endorses completions programmes.
Provides operational support to the Well Superintendent and delegates when required.
Ensures effective well project closure and handover to Global Operations including handover documentation and endorses post-job reviews.
Supports the development of completion engineers through technical coaching and supervision of engineering work.
Supports Team Leader and provides cover when necessary.




Job Advert:

Essential education
Accredited Masters Degree in Engineering or Science discipline.

Essential experience and job requirements
Experience in delivering Completion Engineering and Operations on multiple projects; expert knowledge of completion design, planning and execution; knowledge of completion equipment including engineering assurance and QA/QC requirements; knowledge in the evaluation of completion execution performance, reliability and well performance; knowledge of full life cycle well engineering.

Desirable criteria & qualifications
Chartered or professional engineering accreditation
