As the Data Installation Electrician, you will be required to undertake a variety of tasks for both internal and external clients throughout the UK. This will include the installation of small power circuits, installation of various electrical and data containment systems and installation of various cabling systems, including data communication and telecommunications cabling.
As a team member of the reactive callout team, you'll respond to and manage various issues and faults across the country on a rolling rota basis, so you must be flexible for this role. You will also assist the Contracts Manager in surveying on site and preparing costs and quotations.
Your Skills and Experience
You must be qualified to the current IEE Wiring regulations BS7671 (17th edition or 18th edition) or to City and Guilds 2330 Level 2/3 and have experience of carrying out testing.
City and Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification and substation experience is highly desirable and a background in structured cabling both copper and fibre optic systems would also be advantageous.
You will be a confident communicator with the ability to write, receive and review work packages, safety documentation and relevant drawings to allow the person to undertake the various tasks to completion of the project. Furthermore, you'll liaise with clients, sub-contractors and suppliers as and when required.
A strong understanding of the roles and responsibilities within the CDM regulations is essential and demonstrable experience of Substations is required; paired with the desire to learn new skills in civils and fibre supervision.
As Electrician, you will perform on site daily risk assessments, site inductions and vehicle and plant check sheets/HAVs. As well as assisting in the completion of Construction phase plans, site audits and safety briefs.
As a company vehicle is provided, a full driving licence is a must.
