Based at Charleston Square Throughcare Unit, 16 Charleston Square, Paisley.
You will provide extensive support to young people leaving local authority care within the community and will develop, implement and review support plans to promote the development of independent living skills needed to sustain a tenancy.
It is essential you have an SVQ Level 3 and HNC in Social Care or an equivalent qualification at level 6 (SQF) or above and experience of working with vulnerable young people with complex needs. You must have an understanding of the complex issues and barriers faced in the transition to living independently; have the ability to develop, implement and review support plans; develop effective partnership working; manage your own workload and build positive relationships with difficult to engage young people and their families. An in-depth understanding of social care values and literacy and IT skills are also required.
You must be dedicated and skilled at assisting young people to make positive changes to their lives; determined to remain engaged with young people and to employ a consistent approach in the provision of support; be enthusiastic and motivated and enjoy working as part of a team; be organised and reliable with the ability to prioritise your workload, manage your own case load whilst being a resourceful and effective communicator.
Applicants must be able to work shifts including weekend and sleepovers.
An ability or interest in creative arts is desirable.
