Team Manager Statutory Mental Health Team (13/766)
£46,269 - £49,854

We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and experienced manager to lead the region wide development, planning and delivery of statutory Mental Health services.

You will be committed to achieving the highest possible standards, throughout all aspects of statutory Mental Health practice and beyond whilst having regard to the needs of service, quality and costs. You will be responsible for the delivery of statutory duties and that departmental policies and procedures are adhered to throughout all service delivery activities.

You will manage the assessment and targeting of resources, both human and financial.

You will ensure the delivery of services interface with other Social Work Services and services within the context of Health and Social Care Integration in a collaborative manner

The post is full time (36 hours) and will be based in Dumfries though you will be expected to regularly travel throughout the region.

You will have a recognised professional qualification in Social Work and be SSSC registered. Though not essential an accredited management/leadership qualification is desirable.

You will have demonstrable experience of operational leadership and management within Social Work including at least 3 years management and have a good knowledge of mental health legislation.

You will be an excellent communicator and will seek to encourage and promote the ideas, thoughts and innovation of others. You can negotiate effectively and can demonstrate effective leadership and management skills within a collaborative working environment.

You will need to demonstrate a good generic understanding of the main strategic and policy developments affecting Adult Services alongside a clear knowledge of Mental Health & Adult Services legislation and how this directly impacts on service delivery.

Additionally, you will have a knowledge of the fundamental principles of performance management and their practical application including the use of human resource policies in managing performance.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a high level of self-motivation and an ability to use their initiative, to think creatively and independently alongside a high standard of professional integrity, accountability and ownership.
