We need dedicated Bank Support Workers to work with adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs. This is also a great opportunity for carers (HCAs) looking to work in a different setting. Although experience is desirable we will fully train you to ensure you have all the skills needed to provide the very highest standard of support.
Affinity Trust is a national charity dedicated to providing high-quality, personalised support to adults with learning disabilities.
Skills & Experience
No experience is necessary as we provide all the relevant training to enable you to provide excellent care to the people we support. A Bank Support Worker post with Affinity Trust is a varied and interesting role, our staff tell us that it "is fulfilling, fun and offers real opportunities to make a difference to people's lives!"
As a Support Worker you will be working with people with a range of support needs; people who have a learning disability, but may also be on the autistic spectrum, have physical disabilities or associated health needs such as epilepsy, dementia or mental health needs.
As a support worker you will play a key role in enabling the people you support to carry out all of the daily living tasks involved in everyday life. That could be helping someone to live independently within their own home and activities such as:
- Personal care, i.e. helping people to bathe
- Physical support, such as moving with a hoist or wheelchair
We need staff who are able to work shifts, for example waking nights, day and evening shifts, sleep-ins etc. The ability to drive would also be an advantage.
If you are patient with a good sense of humour and enjoy working in an environment where no two days are the same then apply today!
We recognise that although this job is rewarding, it can also be challenging, so in return for your hard work, Affinity Trust offer you:
- 28 days paid holiday per year (inc. bank holidays)
- Competitive pension scheme matching contributions up to 6%
- Discount scheme for shopping, days out, cinema tickets, groceries and much more
- 24-hour helpline for all employees
- Funded and ongoing training for your own development
- Paid for PVG
Affinity Trust are an equal opportunities employer that promotes diversity within our workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community, regardless of sexual orientation, race, age, gender, disability, religion or belief. This post will be subject to an enhanced PVG check which will be provided by Affinity Trust. If this role is in Scotland SSSC registration must be completed within the six month probation period.
All candidates must be able to complete sleep in shifts, paid at a rate of £81 per sleep in shift
We can't find any similar jobs at the moment.
