West Lothian Council reserve the right to close this post early depending on applicant response levels
Applications will be processed as they are submitted.
The Support at Home Service has now been in operation since April 2012 and continues to develop its presence within West Lothian. There are a range of services within the Support at Home Service group, which include re-ablement, crisis care, home safety service and domiciliary care. Working in partnership with other key services, we aim to promote independence and improve the quality of life of vulnerable people in West Lothian
The service seeks to appoint additional staff to increase the capacity of the re-ablement team to deliver care responsively. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to the care of people who need care support and to work with other members of a multi-disciplinary team to achieve better outcomes for individuals.
Applicants will be expected to commit to a shift system. A shift allowance is payable for this.
Ideally applicants should have experience of working in a community based setting, and should be able to demonstrate knowledge of a range of health issues. However we are equally interested in your personality and attitude, as well as you possessing an interest and desire to support people within their own homes. Full training for the role will be given.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC.
This post is considered Regulated Work with protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
A full driving licence is required.
