What is the Role

The Senior Talent & Leadership Development Consultant is a senior role within the Talent & Leadership Development team based in the Learning and Talent function at SSE.

The role covers all aspects of Talent and Leadership development design, delivery and evaluation including senior stakeholder engagement and consultation, executive coaching, leadership team facilitation, design and delivery of tailored leadership and talent interventions and senior talent and leadership development programmes.

The role will work closely with L&D Managers and HR Business Partners to ensure the delivery of strategic development interventions that demonstrate real return on investment.

What do I need?

The successful candidate will need the following:

Coaching qualification and experience of executive coaching

A proven track record of consulting with and challenging senior business stakeholders to deliver successful development interventions

Demonstrates an understanding and a proven track record of evaluating development and showing return on investment

A Learning and Development qualification e.g. CIPD preferred but not essential

Qualified to deliver a range of psychometrics including but not restricted to Insights, Hogan, 360-degree feedback

Demonstrates a broad range of HR and business experience to effectively link development to broader people strategy

Strongly self-motivated with an ability to quickly engage key stakeholders

Listening and questioning skills to effectively consult with key stakeholders

Demonstrates strong leadership skills and role models best practice

Excellent communication skills

Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills whether in a permanent team or working in a matrix structure

Capable of managing different, competing and multiple demands with a balanced and calm approach

Demonstrates strong influencing skills to key stakeholders at all levels in the business

Is capable of motivating others by bringing in latest thinking on leadership development activities

Demonstrates an understanding of Inclusion and Diversity strategies and practices and understands the business significance

Demonstrates an understanding of the strategic business challenges facing the energy sector and the issues these challenges generate in relation to developing leaders for the future

Demonstrates an understanding of leadership development models and tools and how to effectively implement these
