Based at Renfrewshire House in Paisley, Renfrewshire Council is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled member of staff to work as part of the Strategic Planning and Policy Development team embedded in Communities, Housing and Planning Services.
As part of the Policy and Commissioning Service, the Strategic Planning and Policy Development team leads all planning and performance related activities across the Council.
The Planning and Policy Development Officer will support the development and implementation of corporate and service level policies and activities which drive the continuous improvement of the Council. You will regularly prepare policy briefings, produce management information reports to ensure that the strategic needs of your allocated business area are met.
It is essential that you have a relevant degree and experience in local government or similar diverse organisation; experience in preparing written policy/research briefings or similar; effective organisational, time management, IT and communication skills with the ability to analyse and present complex information clearly. It is desirable that you have previous work experience in service planning, policy or research and an understanding of current policy issues and developments affecting local government.
