As part of our vision of ‘Excellence for All’, West Highland College UHI is seeking to recruit for the following posts to help lead the further development and implementation of the College’s strategies for digital and STEM. These posts provide an opportunity for experienced managers to join a small but highly performing college at an exciting time in its development.

Project Director – STEM

Full-time – fixed term for 24 months
Location: Fort William

This is a key role providing strategic leadership on the development and implementation of the College’s digital and STEM strategy and curriculum plans. There will be a requirement to build organisational capacity and resource, build and maintain links with industry and key stakeholders and provide expert input into the design and build of the practical workshops within a new Centre for Science and Technology in Fort William.

The successful candidate will be qualified to SCQF level 10 in an engineering related discipline or hold relevant industry qualifications and have experience of working in a dynamic and innovative engineering environment, together with links to education and training. Experience of leading and managing specialist STEM curriculum learning spaces and facilities is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills and a track record of working autonomously and with a diverse range of colleagues and stakeholders is essential.

Project Manager – Digital and STEM

Full-time – fixed term for 24 months
Location: Fort William

This is a key post for the College, leading and managing the STEM programme areas and assisting the Project Director – STEM in the further development of the STEM curriculum. A specific focus of this role is to lead on work to achieve the College’s digital ambition, which includes embedding digital skills across all curriculum areas and development of staff across the College.

The successful candidate will be qualified to SCQF level 10 in a STEM-related discipline with demonstrable experience of working within a digital context. Experience of working in education and training is essential, ideally leading curriculum development and delivery in a further or higher education context. A teaching qualification is desirable.

Salary: £48,425
