Job Description

Evening Home Support Workers (temporary and permanent)
Salary: Grade 3 £19,368 - £19,928 (pro rata)
Various Locations within Inverclyde

Care at Home service offer various contracted hours and shift patterns, with service being delivered between 4pm and 11pm, Monday – Sunday. 

We currently have the following shift patterns, 4 days on 4 days off.

1600-1830 and 1900-2230



We are looking for someone enthusiastic and caring like you: do you have work or personal experience, any age, male or female. Looking to start a career or change your career path. Are you kind, caring and compassionate, and do you have the ability to assist people in their own home to remain as independent as possible, do you think you could encourage and support a person to maintain existing daily living skills or regain their confidence following an accident or a period of illness. 

As an evening home support worker you will provide assistance to service users in their own homes. You will perform a range of tasks to promote independence for service users and provide assistance with all aspects of personal care which will include assisting with medication administration, washing, dressing/undressing, supporting or assisting in to bed and preparing meals. You will also assist with the management of continence and personal hygiene including catheter and stoma care.

Ideal candidates will have good listening skills and the ability to interact to people to help them to reach their full potential in all areas of daily living. We are looking for people who are flexible, have good communication skills and can work without direct supervision.

The successful candidate will be required to attend all relevant training courses and register with the Scottish Social Service Council (SSSC).

A full driving licence is essential with use of a vehicle at all times, during working hours.

Vetting by Disclosure Scotland

If you work in regulated work (children and/or protected adults) you will be subject to obtaining a satisfactory PVG. A small number of posts require a Standard Disclosure and the majority of all other posts will be subject to a Basic Disclosure. All disclosure checks are obtained via Disclosure Scotland. If you are the successful candidate you will be required to pay the cost of the disclosure check/s required for your post. 

Regulatory Bodies
