The Catering Services Manager role is responsible for implementing the Council’s Healthy Eating Policy and Food Allergy Policy and through our School Meals software programme that our School Meals are adhering to the Scottish Government’s requirements

The manager ensures that the Catering services and operations meet the terms of the relevant regulations and legislation as well as maintaining our Quality Management system and procedures.

An HND in hospitality management or equivalent qualification is essential along with considerable experience of managing a multiple Hospitality/Catering Service and knowledge of the practical application of food safety standards and regulation.

Ideally the job holder will have extensive experience in the school meal service including nutritional analysis.

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.

Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £43,618.31 per annum.

Compliance with the mandatory Cabinet Office PSN (Public Sector Network) Code of Connection requires the Council to meet a baseline personal security standard. This requires completion of a basic/standard/enhanced disclosure check for all employees who can access official information.
