Visitor and Monument Assistant Supervisor
City Art Centre and other locations

Salary: £18,316 - £21,190
Hours: 36 per week

Operating some of Edinburgh's most Iconic Monuments and Museums along with The City Art Centre, we strive to deliver a welcoming, memorable and enjoyable experience for all visitors and customers, ensuring that they receive the highest level of customer service at all times whilst contributing to the commercial success of the service.

Based at the Art Centre the role's key focus will be to develop the venue as an event space for varied use ranging from conferences to weddings.

Duties will include:

Assist with visitor engagement as first point of contact in City of Edinburgh Museums and Galleries; displays; exhibitions and services and deliver a high standard of customer care. Support and assist the work daily of the Visitor & Monument Assistant team including casual staff and office based duties to include creation of rotas and IT processing. Motivating the team to ensure high standards of customer serviceCorporate Governance Assist with the of Public Programmes and Venue Hires at various venues and monuments across the city. Responsible for handling cash in large volumes; processing credit card transactions ; making floats and ensuring financial discrepancies are investigated and reported. Operate security, health and safety procedures ensure the maintenance reporting of any building defects.; act as key holders for opening and closing of 8 venues.

Experience required:

Knowledge of updating Risk Assessments in liaison with the Events Duty Managers and ensure that public galleries are free from potential hazards. Must be confident, friendly and able to handle a broad range of information, and willing to acquire new knowledge and skills. Understand the learning needs of a diverse audience and able to apply appropriate communication techniques. Must be literate and numerate / IT Skills and online training as required. Good verbal communications skills to engage positively with the general public are required as well as excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
