?We are looking to recruit a Hatchery Technician to work at the Company’s Recirculation Unit at Lochailort. Mowi covers the whole value and production chain, from feed to plate, and through our vision of leading the “Blue Revolution” we are dedicated to farming the ocean in a responsible and efficient way.


Lochailort Recirculation Unit is one of MOWI’s newest and latest RAS systems. This would allow the successful candidate to gain both valuable and technical experience for a career in the aquaculture industry. All staff will be expected to be fully aware of the importance of biosecurity and animal husbandry and will be actively involved in maintaining these measures.  


The position is permanent, with a working pattern of any 5 days out of 7. The successful candidate will also be expected to be part of a weekly alarm rota/ required to stay on site providing 24 hours call out cover.


Roles & Responsibilities

Take care of eggs prior to hatching
Fish husbandry of the fry and smolts
Clean down and maintenance of plant and equipment
Proactive approach to Health and safety practices throughout the hatchery


Previous experience in freshwater operations will be an advantage, but not essential as full training and support will be provided.
High degree of computer literacy is essential.
Work flexibly to meet demands of the job.
Self-motivated, able to work well in a large team.
Good communication & Planning skills.
Drivers licence is essential. No driving licence? We can help you with the cost of lessons.
