As an apprentice at Scottish Water you’ll be joining one of Scotland’s most critical businesses and be part of the team who deliver essential water and waste water services to the people of Scotland.
We’re passionate about developing our people and we’ll help you make the most of your skills and abilities with first-class training, support, hands-on work experience and a huge investment in your development. You’ll have the chance to challenge and stretch yourself and build opportunities for your future as your career grows and develops. We’re a team that respects and values peoples’ differences, where you can be yourself – and where you can flourish.
As part of our commitment to talent development we are now accepting applications from you to join as a Multi- Functional Network Modern Apprentice based in Arran. On Arran we deal with everything from Raw water pumping, river intakes, 3 No Water treatment works, treated water pumping and storage, including all aspects of networks and customer service (water, field and sewer response) and wastewater treatment and networks (septic tanks and pumping stations).
What will you be doing?
During this 4 year programme, you’ll be learning everything you need to know about how we maintain our water and waste water network to ensure that our customers’ services are maintained effectively and safely. That means most of your days will be spent outdoors working as part of an expert and experienced team who will support you to develop your skills and knowledge and achieve a nationally recognised qualification. This is your chance to learn as you earn, working with industry-leading teams to help deliver services that are essential to the daily lives of the people of Scotland.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for people who are selfmotivated, team players who enjoy being outdoors. You should be practical, well organised and a good problem solver with a positive attitude and the ability to work on your own initiative. You’ll have five National 4 or 5 Qualifications (English, Maths and Science are advantageous but not essential) and a full UK driving licence (or currently be working to achieve this).
Due to the nature of this role it is essential that applicants live on Arran. If you’re interested in starting your career in the water industry as a trainee, we’d love to hear from you!
Apply above by 16th December.
