WESTERN ISLES HEALTH BOARD, 37 SOUTH BEACH STREET, STORNOWAY, ISLE OF LEWIS HS1 2BN Practice Education Facilitator Band 6 – £30,401 to £38,046 per annum Plus Distant Island Allowance of £1,043 per annum 37.5 hours per week Permanent Contract An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and positive person to join the Clinical Governance and Professional Practice Team as Practice Education Facilitator. The post holder will be an on-site support and advisor to mentor colleagues in relation to all pre and post registration nursing students. The post holder will have a key role in enhancing the quality of the practice learning experience, and to positively contribute to the future nursing / midwifery workforce. The post holder will work collaboratively with NHS Education for Scotland and Higher Education Institutions and will join a national network of Practice Education Facilitators. The post is based in Stornoway at the Western Isles Hospital and the post holder will be required to travel between sites; this may also involve significant travel. You will be a registered nurse or midwife with relevant post registration qualifications and experience. You will possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills and be an experienced educator in order to support NHS Western Isles, NHS Education for Scotland and Higher Education Institutions in the Practice Education Facilitator role.
