Training and Compliance Officer
Seafield Depot

Salary: £25,623 - £30,563
Hours: 36 per week

A new post has been created within Waste and Cleansing to support the Safety and Compliance Coordinator to plan, co-ordinate and lead the delivery of training across a range of functions within the Waste and Cleansing Service, including the development of staff training matrices, Health and Safety refresher and induction training and manual handling and specialist training.

We're looking for a self motivated individual to plan and coordinate of health and safety training, vehicle and other compliance training for the Waste and Cleansing Service ensuring full compliance with all relevant legislation, codes of practice, guidance and procedures.

Duties will include:

Responsibility for ensuring the delivery of co-designed annual training plans by providing planning and scheduling support to staff managers across the Service Develop a range of training initiatives ensuring outcomes are delivered within a time, cost, quality framework. Devise and deliver training to a wide staffing group including frontline operatives, including operation of vehicles (eg reversing assistance) Deliver the Safety Health and Environmental Awareness SHEA Waste and Resource Management scheme (Energy & Utility Skills Waste Passport) and wider SWITCH (Scottish Waste Industry Training, Competence, Health & Safety) competency framework across all levels within Waste and Cleansing

Experience required:

Demonstrable experience in delivering training courses and programmes and an understanding of e-learning techniques, and where relevant, be involved in the creation and/or delivery of e-learning packages A comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety and Policy related legislation relating to relevant Departments Ability to design and deliver training and development annual programmes based on the needs of the Service and the individual, including formal qualification training such as the Energy & Utility Skills Waste Passport

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
