Children's Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Nursing Support Worker to join the CHAS at Home team in Inverness. We are currently in the position of expanding our CHAS at Home work to meet an increased need for care of babies, children and young people with life shortening conditions at home. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated Support Worker to join our compassionate and committed CHAS at Home team. Key Responsibilities As part of the home care team, you will provide respite and end of life care for children and families in their own homes. Key responsibilities of this role include: Assisting in the provision of a high standard of palliative nursing care to children and young people through implementing care programmes Assisting in providing end of life care at home and bereavement support Responding to protection of vulnerable people issues in the community setting Communicating with a range of professionals to meet the needs of the child or young person and their family When appropriately trained, delegated responsibility for care interventions including airway management through tracheostomy care, naso-pharyngeal tubes, suction, non-invasive and invasive ventilation Planning and organising a range of social activities for families About You We are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic and creative Senior Nursing Support Worker, with a willingness to learn and experience of working in a Health, Social or Child Care setting. You will have the skills to assist in the delivery of care for babies, children and young people with nursing requirements, and the ability to adapt the care you give to meet the individual needs of families. You will be educated to SVQ level 3/have a HNC in Health, Social or Child Care or be able to evidence equivalent experience. This post is based in Inverness, and includes travel across the Highlands as well as occasional travel to the Islands, Central Scotland or CHAS at Home sites in Aberdeen, Balloch and Kinross, if the service requires it. Therefore, you must also have access to a car and a full driving licence.
