IP Signalling are over 600 project delivery professionals with extensive experience of delivering complex and high-profile signalling renewals and enhancements. Based around Great Britain, they work with their client, the routes, and the technical expertise of their supply chain to deliver safe, reliable and consistent projects on the network.
Infrastructure Projects (IP) Signalling team has achieved a world first, recording the highest ever score in an internationally recognised project management assessment.
The Portfolio, Programme and Project Management Maturity Model (P3M3), run by the independent body Aspire, looks at an organisation and how it delivers its projects, programmes and portfolios of work. Our team achieved a score of 4.4 out of 5, measured across the seven perspectives, which is a first in the history of the assessment. No organisation in any industry worldwide has ever achieved a score of more than four in the assessment.
As an Innovations Engineer you will identify, help deliver, promote, test and provide technical support to the development and delivery including training and advice of specific projects/initiatives relating broadly to the design tools portfolio. You will also help the implementation of these projects/initiatives within NR and the supply chain. This will include working to deliver key programme initiatives and inputting into technical teams to contribute to projects initiatives and deliver the right outputs to time and quality requirements.
You will also work with the wider SIG team to develop, scope and improve help the portfolio activities, and to share, communicate and maintain these. You will support and represent the SIG programme across the railway industry nationally and with international colleagues, provide knowledge of the programme in terms of vision, scope, benefits and approach
To succeed in this role, it is critical to have an understanding and keen interest in data management and modelling including BIM, UML, Json and future technologies such as VR / AR and IoT. Providing the knowledge and guidance on standard methodology and Business As Usually tasks undertaken using Tools and Design Technology ' namely CAD tools, Bentley plug-ins e.g. ISP Scheme, CNET and tools such as Sketch. You will also be required to input on train-borne survey techniques and potential technological solutions. Using NR fleet and TOC/FOC service vehicles.
