Network Rail is at the heart of revitalising Britain's railway. From Crossrail ' Europe's largest civil engineering project ' to investment in world-class stations and major programmes of electrification, we're involved in some of the most ambitious and diverse ventures that this country has ever seen.

The Southern Region carries over 1 million passengers a day, which is 40% of the nation's journeys. On time performance in Kent is the highest nationally for any large operator, despite maintaining some of the oldest track assets in the country with London Bridge maintaining 300 miles of track alone. The Infrastructure Maintenance Engineer (IME) at London Bridge is a very challenging role which is both personally and professionally rewarding. You will have an exciting opportunity to make a positive difference to the reliability and performance of the asset and infrastructure at a critical location for the network. Your decisions will influence and impact on the millions of passenger journeys undertaken throughout the year.

You will be working with and leading a very dedicated and talented team. As an individual you will need to demonstrate due diligence, manage and mitigate risk and have the ability to resolve problems using methodical approaches and strong leadership, playing your part in putting passengers first.

At London Bridge DU, we operate with two IMES, currently split by discipline ' one Track IME and one Signalling, Electrification and Plant IME. This vacancy is for the Track IME. In time it is expected that the split will be geographically based rather than discipline based, so we are looking for someone that can demonstrate the ability to lead and manage a multi discipline team.

Your role will be to effectively lead and direct the Engineering team in the efficient delivery of inspection, maintenance and project related works for all Infrastructure assets to meet relevant standards. To drive culture transformation for safety and asset performance creating continual improvement and deliver safety, compliance and performance strategies, following business processes in order to deliver a compliant, well performing asset through a safe large multi-disciplinary team.
