You will be responsible for managing a team of Social Work staff (qualified and unqualified) providing assessment & care management support to older people and their carers. You will have responsibility for ensuring social work standards of practice are adhered to in line with statutory guidance & SSSC Codes of Practice.

Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland, in addition to which registration with the Scottish Social Services Council is essential.

Diploma in Social Work or equivalent is essential, together with post qualifying experience.


You must articulate the team plan from service, corporate, partner and other key stakeholder plans and targets ensuring team resources are focussed on key priorities.

You will identify and ensure that the necessary systems, processes and procedures are fit for purpose, understood and followed, including administration, links with internal and external stakeholders, etc.

The Individual

Current or previous management or supervisory experience is essential.

You will have experience of redirecting support to priority areas while keeping team members engaged.

You will also have experience of working with a range of different groups and organisations, together with working within a multi-disciplinary environment.
