NLC9 £28,651 - £33,487* (plus 2 hours contractual overtime and appropriate allowances)
As part of a team based throughout North Lanarkshire, you will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day running of the Council’s Streetscene operations which includes both grounds maintenance and street cleaning functions to the highest standards. This will involve the supervision of staff, responsibility for equipment and materials and liaising with the public to ensure excellent service provision.
You must be educated to SVQ2, NC level or equivalent, have a driving licence (Categories B & E) and possess moderate previous experience of land management and supervision of staff and working in a customer focused environment as well as have knowledge of Land Management developments and Health and Safety requirements.
You will possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and ideally have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with good attention to detail and the ability to schedule and prioritise work to ensure deadlines are met. You should also be able to work on your own initiative and be able to deal with enquiries, problems and complaints from members of the public.
One post will be predominantly based in Wardpark Depot, Cumbernauld and one post primarily based in Souterhouse Depot, Coatbridge however you must be able to travel throughout the area of North Lanarkshire Council.
The hours of work will be 7.00am to 5.15pm (inclusive of contractual overtime) worked each day Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
These posts are temporary from 17 April to 12 October 2020 for a period of 26 weeks.
