Secondment opportunities must be discussed with your current line manager prior to submitting an application for this post.
You will work closely with colleagues within the Occupational Therapy Service as well as with different disciplines and will be responsible for assessing needs for new and existing services for adults, by conducting an initial assessment by telephone. In addition you will also offer advice and signposting services
You must demonstrate an appropriate value base, sound interpersonal and report writing skills as well as a commitment to delivering quality services.
An HNC in Social Care or equivalent is essential.
The main functions are:
To provide an OT duty service managed through a single point of access by responding to enquiries by telephone, e-mail and mail.
To deliver these services in accordance with current legislation and Council policies, procedures and standards.
The post holder will share the aims and objectives of the team, which seeks to ensure a quality service is provided to clients in West Lothian.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
