You will lead a small team, helping to deliver the Councils Garden Maintenance Scheme over the summer months and carry out a variety of ground maintenance tasks in parks, open spaces, schools and housing areas for the remainder of the year.
You will work 79 hours per fortnight from March to October and 61 hours per fortnight for the remainder of the year.
A Category B driving licence and experience of using appropriate tools and plant are essential, as is the ability to work in all weathers and conditions. A B+E licence would be an advantage.
Applicants must be able to work every second Saturday, for which a 7.5% shift allowance will be paid.
The skills and knowledge you must have:-Educated to SVQ Level 2 or recognised apprenticeship, or equivalent Experience of a range of horticultural skills Ability to use complex plant or equipment Specialist driving skills to operate mechanical diggers, tractors, dumpers etc Ability to work during all weathers and in all conditions Driving Licence Appropriate NPTC certificates for application of pesticides and arboricultural duties Plant certificates for use of mechanical diggers and other items of plant
