Social Policy’s Business Support Service provides support to all operational teams across Community Care, Children and Families and Criminal Justice. The service facilitates the delivery of a culture of continuous improvement (including learning and organisational development) and quality assurance in all aspects of business support, enabling front line social work and social care services through the provision of high quality flexible support at all times. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join the service which has principal responsibilities in and across 4 teams; Performance and Quality, Finance and Contracting, Strategy Policy and Change and Customer and Community. 

Post 1 is located within the Customer and Community team with a particular focus on training for social work and social care staff working across the partnership. A qualification in social work would be beneficial.

Post 2 is within the Strategy, Policy and Change team with a focus on developing strategic plans and to co-ordinate and lead working groups and projects teams across the service and in partnership with other agencies and providers.

Ideally candidates will have knowledge of social work and social care services, be computer literate, possess excellent communication, interpersonal and report writing skills and have experience of strategic planning and project management. A positive attitude and enthusiastic outlook with a ‘can do’ attitude would fit well with the Service’s ethos.

The post holder/s will report to the Business Support Manager and will be based within an open plan working environment. Occasional travel out with West Lothian will be required.

HND or equivalent Proven performance and project management skills Highly developed interpersonal skills Ability to identify and implement strategic improvement plans Proven track record of delivery Excellent organisational skills Knowledge of MS office Report writing skills
