A Workshop Technician is required to support teaching staff principally in the Craft, Design and Technology department, but elsewhere in the school as necessary.
A recognised craft apprenticeship in a relevant discipline or possession of a SCOTVEC or equivalent qualification is essential.
The key duties of this post are:To support the teaching staff principally in the Craft, Design and Technology Department, but elsewhere in the school as necessary. Ensure that tools and equipment, including audio visual/new technology equipment, are maintained and adequate supplies of materials, tools and equipment are available for use by teachers and students. Assist the teaching staff in demonstrating the use of equipment and preparation of technical areas and workshops.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
