Job Description Summary.
An opportunity has arisen to join our Commercial Banking Business Risk (CBBR) Conduct team. The continued regulatory focus on Conduct across the Banking industry makes this an exciting time to join this high profile team and to contribute to the Group vision to be the best bank for customers.
The CBBR team enables LBG Commercial Banking (CB) to achieve its capital efficiency and profitability targets within a strong, client-aware control environment. As a first line Risk Function, we proactively partner the business to build and maintain a robust control framework that supports business growth and enables quality client service, focusing on operational risk and fraud and financial crime. The function seeks to keep the Commercial Banking division, and our clients, safe.
The Conduct team is a "hub" for all Divisional Commercial Banking Conduct activity, working in partnership to create, manage and drive a bespoke Commercial Banking agenda within a business as usual environment. The team are Conduct specialists who work closely with all business areas across CB to establish, maintain and evidence a strong conduct control framework.
As the Conduct Manager you'll champion a strong control and compliance culture by demonstrating a sound understanding of risk frameworks and proactively handling conduct risk.
The role will require you to support delivery and leadership of Conduct initiatives to plan, whilst influencing simplification, to ensure safer, simpler and more efficient client experience.
Accountable for the creation and delivery of a strong and compelling Conduct vision for Commercial Banking. Pro-actively influence business led delivery plans to achieve our Conduct aspirations.
Act as a bridge between the business, Risk Advisory, and the wider Group, whist ensuring Conduct activity is aligned with Group strategy and evolving FCA requirements.
Influence CB wide conduct plans, by driving understanding of the current residual and horizon risk landscape and by coordinating the underlying BUs to deliver local actions as appropriate.
Coordination, reporting and governance of Conduct appetite and related risk metrics
Support the Development, implementation and monitoring of appropriate controls for the management of Conduct
Essential Technical Skills Required:
Develop a comprehensive knowledge of the aims and structures of the Customer Treatment Policy, and cultural agenda of LBG and Commercial Banking.
Evaluate industry wide emerging trends and threats through internal and external publications.
Strong partner management skills in order to influence conduct related initiatives, and, contribute to strategic direction and thought leadership of Conduct within Commercial Banking.
Strong ability to utilize a wide range of analytical tools and techniques, supported by relevant experience, to make clear recommendations and provide solutions to business needs.
Good general understanding of risk reporting and governance alongside strong data analytical skills
Essential Control Skills Required:
Good knowledge of regulatory and related conduct requirements
Able to influence and challenge management to achieve effective governance and sound control frameworks.
