Job Description :

We’ve created some unique opportunities at the Brand Visitor Centre in our Talisker Distillery on the beautiful Isle of Skye. Are you a natural storyteller who can breathe life in to the stories about Diageo’s unique brands and mission?

Brand Home Guide

Talisker Distillery, Isle of Skye, Scotland

Part time, Permanent

Please note this is a permanent part-time role comprised of annualised hours. This means that during peak tourist season you may work full-time hours (circa 38 hours per week) and accordingly will work fewer hours throughout the rest of the year e.g. November to March. Annual salary is paid in 12 equal monthly instalments.

About the role

Forging an exciting future is everything to us at Diageo.  Our people thrive at the cutting edge, taking risks and experimenting to grow our iconic brands.  At heart, we’re a learning culture that is restless to win with our customers and consumers.

Being an integral part of the visitor centre team, as a Brand Home Guide, you’ll be required to deliver high standards of customer service and provide a memorable visitor experience. Our tours are the opportunity for the public to learn the Talisker story. You’ll be guiding them around our beautiful distillery representing the brand and Diageo as a whole.

Our ambition is to create the best performing, most trusted and respected Consumer Products Company in the world.  To achieve these, we need the world’s very best Brand Home Guides.

You’ll implement a focus on ticket sales and promoting our brand.  Our impressive whisky bar holds many of our products, therefore shop duties and up-selling products will also be a key focus for you.

Flexibility is vital to the success of our business and many of our staff work flexibly in many different ways. Please talk to us about what flexibility means to you and don’t let anything stop you from applying.

Given the location, please consider accommodation requirements on the Isle of Skye and please don't hesitate to chat with us about this too.

About you

Brands like Guinness and Johnnie Walker were created by the leading entrepreneurs of their age.  And their spirit is alive in our business every single day and you’ll see this nowhere better than in our Talisker Distillery.  Here you won’t just stand on the shoulders of giants.  You’ll take what they created and make it even better for those who come after you.  It’s a career-defining responsibility.

We’re looking for people with character: driven, resilient and open-minded.  Are you passionate about customer service and a team player?  We certainly hope so!

We’re looking for someone who values the importance of working in a team and being able to build strong working relationships with customers as well.

A diverse workforce is essential to our success as a multi-national, multi-cultural business. Our aim is to foster a culture that provides opportunities for all, through the variety of different personalities, experiences and perspectives, creating a stimulating and rewarding working environment.  By creating a truly inclusive workplace that recognises difference and diversity of thought, feelings and actions, we can allow our people to unleash the power of being themselves, always, to enable them to Celebrate Life, Every Day, Everywhere.
