Salary: £28,000 - £42,000 depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time with Flexible Working patterns available

About the Department

Transmission operates under licence as Scottish Hydro Electric (SHE) Transmission plc, responsible for the transmission of electricity in the north of Scotland. We own and maintain the 132kV, 275kV and 400kV electricity transmission network in our licence area. Our network comprises of underground cables, overhead wooden poles, steel towers and electricity substations, and it extends over a quarter of the UK land mass across some of its most challenging terrain.

What is the Role?

SSEN Transmission are currently recruiting for a Marine Consents Manager. This role is to support the delivery of Major Projects working alongside Transmission Environmental Teams and Project Managers. Your role involves identifying and securing statutory marine consents and sea-bed agreements for some of the largest marine transmission projects in the UK. Once granted you will monitor and control compliance with these consents, developing strong working relationships with contractors, regulators and external stakeholders. You will also negotiate lease options and crossing agreements with other marine users and marine landowners, operating within agreed parameters and timescales to facilitate delivery and minimise project risk.

Experience of Project refinement and delivery are essential and as you will have control of the Marine Consents Budgets within agreed parameters for the marine elements of electricity transmission projects.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role; you should have an understanding of the function and structure of the electricity networks industry and SSE as a business. You will be experienced in marine spatial planning and where possible cable route selection with strong knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and regulations.

You will be degree qualified or have the equivalent experience (Marine resource management or environmental planning preferable) in a relevant industry where you have managed the interaction between business and regulatory regimes.

As you will be liaising with stakeholders and the wider business, you must be a clear, effective communicator who has a focus on the customer, commercial drivers and delivery.
