Perth & Kinross Council is seeking an HGV Chargehand Mechanic within Fleet Management. You must have knowledge, skills and experience in the repair & maintenance of heavy goods and light vehicles as you will be responsible for ensuring that the Councils fleet of vehicles is maintained to both DVSAs and Perth & Kinross Council standards. Experience of managing staff and a shifts workload will be advantageous for this role.
You must be a time served Motor Vehicle Mechanic or Technician (City & Guilds Parts 1&2 or N/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent level of certification) and preferably have experience of the repair & maintenance of commercial vehicles, heavy plant and equipment and a working knowledge of hydraulic repairs. You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross. Holding a UK LGV C+E licence would be advantageous. You may be required to carry out MOT & Taxi Testing duties if holding the qualification or be willing to achieve these skills through training. You will have the ability to work within a pressured environment and being able to meet own and team deadlines is vital.
