Days and Hours of Work:
Monday-Friday (09.00-17.00) *subject to service requirements

This post will be offered on a secondment or one year temporary contract and will work in both the North Berwick Library/Area office and Dunbar Library/Area office based in the Bleachingfield Centre, Dunbar. The postholder will report to the Customer Services officer who will also work out of both facilities.

These Library/Area Offices are busy libraries although demand for other services is different in both facilities. The postholder will be expected to cover a late night opening or a Saturday from time to time. They may also require to be involved on an on-call rota.

To assist in the day to day delivery of front line customer and library services.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Educated to Higher level, NC or SVQ Level 2 in English and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.

PVG Membership
This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.

All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
