Glasgow is a thriving and vibrant city and excellent opportunities exist to join us and contribute towards helping all our neighbourhoods flourish. The Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership (GHSCP) is on a journey to radically change the way in which Social Work delivers support and services.
We are looking for qualified Social Workers and Social Work students who are due to qualify this year who, like us, are committed to making a real difference to the lives of young people, older people and adults. Our vacancies are within Children, Adult, Older People and Criminal Justice Services.
Children’s Services:- we want to ensure that the city invests in early family support and parenting. We are determined to ensure the whole of the GHSCP, in tandem with colleagues in Education, are co-ordinated for the maximum benefit of every family. We want to significantly improve the experience of children and young people in our care and utilise all of the strengths within the wider family and wider community. Our determination is to secure better outcomes and positive destinations for all. As a Partnership, we want to shift the balance of care and ensure we invest maximum resource and maximum effort in helping families to stay together, assist in the delivery of interventions and contribute to complex care management within a multi-disciplinary context.
Older People Service:- there is a significant transformation programme to ensure that we support adults with multiple and complex needs and older people with increasing levels of frailty to live as independently as possible. Older peoples services are now fully integrated across the city in order ensure that we support older people and their families / carers as effectively as possible.
Adult Services:- we have a large range of services that require to work effectively together in order to ensure that the most vulnerable within our City get the right service in the right place at the right time. We work in full partnership across both adult and older people’s services with our health colleagues and a broad range of partners and we have a key priority in relation to shifting the balance of care across both service areas and promoting more effective early intervention and preventative supports.
Criminal Justice Services:- this is a crucial role in safeguarding communities and reducing offending within the community. Working with often very vulnerable individuals with complex needs, we require to work effectively across the Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership in order to secure better and positive outcomes for individuals subject to statutory orders. We work with a broad range of partners within justice services including Police Scotland, Court, Health and voluntary services with the aim being to promote and engage clients in effective offence focused work, preventative and recovery supports and early interventions to reduce the risk of re-offending.
We are seeking energetic, talented, resilient and committed Social Workers to secure these outcomes. You will have sound knowledge of assessment and care management; have practiced extensively under the relevant legislation; and work in a person centred manner which will be fully embedded in your practice.
